Island Locations

There are few built up areas in the island group and no true cities unless you count the rumoured Drow city said to be located within the bowels of an extinct volcano. Along the coast is the port town of Red Barrel. It is the main port for the islands and is the gateway to the main island and beyond. All manner of cargo pass through it's gates destined for outlaying settlements and encampments. It was once said that if it "can't be found in Red Barrel it dosen't exist". This may be a bit of an exaggeration, but the fact is that if you can find it on the islands it most likely passed through Red Barrel. In the central portion of the main island is the mountain settlement known as "Ravenscrag". This ancient walled settlement has changed little in it's long and bitter history. The settlement is smaller than Red Barrel and seems to be more suited to solitary wizards and other adventurers rather than settlers or families. It's cool climate and steep slopes make access difficult for those not accustomed to travel through mountainous terrain.

GUINA FUIN

- As you approach the island you become aware that there is something different, something unsettling about this place. The thick mist that covers Guina Fuin hides it's secrets well. Local tales tell of a long lost village deep within the interior, and of undead creatures that call this cold and miserable place home.

PORT OF RED BARREL

- Gateway to the Islands, Red Barrel is the primary port, and the largest settlement on the isle of Aledeon. All manner of passengers and cargo pass through it's fortified walls. Keep your coin pouch close and your weapon closer, if you venture into it's crowded streets after dark.

Western Savanna

- Covering a large area of western Aledeon, the savanna is a hot and semi-arid region of open plains and low hills. Vegetation is sparse, and water is in short supply.

*

MOUNT NOROGH

- Named by Dwarven miners who were drawn to it's riches of minerals and precious stones. It towers over Ravenscrag like a gigantic wave, ready to unleash it's power and sweep the ancient town from it's shadow. The mountain is actually an extinct volcano, and it's hollow interior holds many secrets, including the fabled Drow city and gateway to the islands underworld.

CENTRAL VALLEY

- This natural corridor runs from the coastal plains, down to the forests of the South Woods. It is the main trade route for the island of Aledeon, and is also the perfect location for thieves, caravan raiders, and evil creatures of all descriptions.

ONDO URULOKI

- The cliffs are tall and jagged, not an easy climb for the average adventurer. An easier route may be through the numerous mine shafts cut through the rock by an army of miners in search of precious metals and fortunes. This is Ondo Uruloki, paradise to a miner, but a terror for those who have a fear of dark and damp places, and the creatures that inhabit it's vast underworld.

THE SOUTH WOODS

- This thickly wooded forest covers most of the southern part of Aledeon, between the mountains and the sea. It is an ancient and magical place, littered with old ruins, and the remains of countless encampments and battlefields. This area is home to all manner of beast, and adventurers are warned not to stray too far from the beaten path.

*
RAVENSCRAG SETTLEMENT

- The walls that surround the settlement are thick and overgrown with centuries of vegetation. Inside, a small community flourishes in the shadow of the mountain. This is Ravenscrag, the last stronghold before the great unknown, and home to a varied assortment of adventurers, shopkeepers, clerics, dignitaries and commoners. The settlement is well stocked with food, supplies, weapons and armor. The atmosphere is tense, as attacks occur almost daily from the evil horde that plague this part of the realm.
